Take a look at your plate the next time you sit down for a meal. What colors do you see? Nutritionists agree that we are lacking color on our plates. See how many in each color category you currently eat and at your next meal, add some new colors.
 
LIGHT-GREEN/WHITE: Broccoli sprouts, brussel sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, turnips

WHITE: Garlic, leeks, onions, shallots

ORANGE/YELLOW: Apricots, cantaloupe, carrots, mangoes, sweet potatoes, bananas

RED: Sour cherries, pink grapefruit, sweet red peppers, tomatoes, watermelon, strawberries, beets, raspberries

BLUE/PURPLE:  Plums, blackberries, blueberries, red cabbage, eggplant, purple grapes

DARK GREEN: Avocados, broccoli, collard greens, cucumbers, spinach, zucchini
